Baix Empordà

The "region of coves" occupies the centre of the Costa Brava and, among its many other temptations, it can offer visitors a notable gastronomic and shopping range, which is why many of the region‘s towns are very busy places at weekends all the year round. Places you really must see are the Medes Islands, facing the Montgré mountain range, the coves of Begur, Calella de Palafrugell and the Sant Sebastia lighthouse, in addition to the remains of the Iberian town of Ullastret and the medieval towns of Pals and Peratallada.
