La Garrotxa
The Garrotxa, our territory‘s greenest region, is dominated by the exceptional Natural Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Area, with 30 craters and a protected area of over 12,000 hectares. Land of legends and brigands, the Garrotxa region is a stimulating place for those keen on exploring unusual places. We would recommend a visit to Oix, in the higher reaches of the region, with an exuberant landscape offering many examples of mountain municipalities dotted amongst its leafy woods, and, over in the lower part of the area, such characteristic places as Santa Pau and Besalú, the region‘s most spectacular towns.
